This is one of my favourite places to stay. It's a quaint, family run inn located on Shore Street - right on Loch Broom.
The rooms are comfortable with en suite facilities. Breakfast is served in the dining room, lunch in the pub - all year. Full dinners are served in the dining room in the summer and by a crackling fire in the pub in the winter. Light fare suppers are always available in the pub, which is usually filled with a mixture of locals and visitors alike. Myriad conversations abound and one can be both educated and entertained by merely listening. Live, musical entertainment is available some evenings.
Call for more info or to make reservations (see phone numbers at top of page) or check out the Inn's official website via the link at the bottom of the page.
Ullapool is a quaint, wee town. There are some shops on the ground floor of the row houses that line Shore Street along picturesque Loch Broom. Don't forget to stop at the Quay Place and sample the fish and chips. Stroll down on the dock to watch the fishing boats unload their catches. Watch the Caledonia MacBrayne (CalMac) ferry arrive and depart. (If you wish to go to the Outer Hebrides, you can go to the head of the dock and make a reservation for the ferry - yes, your car can go, too.) Stroll farther up the hill through the rest of the town or sit on the stone embankment and watch life.
